ARTISTA INVITADO
Cristián Mohaded
Born in Recreo, Catamarca (1980), Cristián grew up surrounded by makers: his mother weaving, his grandmother painting watercolors, and the artisans of his town shaping with their hands at the street fair. From childhood, craft was ever-present—whether repairing an old chair, rearranging the furniture at home, or sketching faces and landscapes. This curiosity for making, and for understanding how things are built, has been a driving force throughout his path as a designer.
He studied Industrial Design at the National University of Córdoba and, inspired by renowned designers and artists such as Ricardo Blanco (AR), the Campana Brothers (BR), and Lucio Fontana (AR), has gained international recognition over the past decade by designing, curating, and materializing projects of diverse scope. His work ranges from small objects to large-scale site-specific installations, encompassing furniture collections, light compositions, sculptures, and drawings.
In his practice, he fuses contemporary expressions, material research, and diverse techniques with the influence of his native landscape: mountains, salt flats, dunes, and volcanoes.
